Date with Baxter

Papa Mike and Gma Lisa arranged an awesome night at the Dbacks game for all of us. We sat in the all you can eat area. Which means Kaykay had two hot dogs and all the popcorn and peanuts she could handle. Kayleigh is a huge dback fan and her favorite dback is Baxter. I leaned in front of her at the game and she got all huffy with me, "Mommy! Move! I can not see the field, move so I can see the game!" Thank you so much to Papa Mike for taking us out for such a great time!

Auntie Maggie's Baby Shower

This weekend we had Auntie Maggie's baby shower. We are so excited to meet baby girl Gia. If all goes as scheduled she will be here August 31! That is a special day because it is Josh's bday and Maggie & Mike's anniversary. Maggie looked beautiful and is such a cute pregnant girl! Of course most of my pictures are of the girls- the center of attention at any party.

Family Time

The Schmitt family came into town last Tuesday. Josh's sister Jenny, bro in law Mark, nephews Andrew & Lukas, and niece Calli. It was nearly impossible to get these girls to take a picture together and forget about trying to get Kayleigh too! Grandma Mona got them to stop for a minute for the camera with the help of some yummy cheese puffs!

Calli is two weeks younger than Taylor. She is such a little lover girl. She would constantly give everyone hugs and kisses. She actually knocked Taylor to the ground with such a sweet kiss and hug- too cute. She can walk like a little superstar. Taylor could actually take a few steps before they got here. Today they left and Taylor is now walking across the entire room. Calli had to show her how it is done!

Happy Independence Day!

We had a pretty low key July 4th. Great Grandma Lou was in town, so we got to spend some fun time with her. We were all in bed before the fireworks!

Happy Bday Jakey!

July 1st was Jake Tucker's third birthday! We partied at Toy Town. Dress up, bouncers, pizza, cupcakes, and all of our favorite people. It was a very fun party!

Papa Joe

We celebrated Papa Joe's 63rd birthday on June 29th. Kayleigh had fun drawing his birthday card. The girls usually spend two days a week over there with Maggie and Papa. Kayleigh is always excited to go and never wants to leave. The day after his birthday he went in for a lung biopsy, he was diagnosed with cancer a few days prior. The procedure did not go as smoothly as hoped and he ended up in the hospital for some time. They removed the top half of his left lung, but it seems as though the cancer is gone. He is at home recovering. Kayleigh tells me that Papa got his broken lung fixed. I think it has been a period of adjustment for everyone. Taylor and Papa are pretty much inseparable and she is always in his arms. He is not able to lift her and I think they both really miss that. We know he is strong and will get through this. We love our Papa Joe!

Taylor's First Birthday!

My sweet Taylor Mae turned one!! This year has flown by so fast. Taylor is my cuddle girl and such a sweet love. She can take a few steps on her own now, but still prefers to crawl. She can say: hi, bye, mama, dada, kaykay, ball, bird, gaga, papa. She weighed in at 20lbs at her one year visit. It has taken some work getting her to eat. She does not love food, but still nurses like a little piggy. We are really working on getting her to eat actual food more, throwing it on the floor or chewing than spitting does not count. Every once in a while she will give me a treat and sleep thought the night, but more often still wakes up to cuddle and nurse once or twice. She remains a mama's girl, which I think makes daddy is a bit jealous. But Kaykay is still a Daddy's girl for sure. She is so happy and smiley. She really completes our family perfectly!
We spent her actually birthday at Disneyland. Then we had her party the following weekend. We celebrated with family and our friends. Great Grandma Lou even flew in for the party. We had fun with presents, cupcakes, and swimming. Thanks to everyone for making the trek out to my parents. It would not have been a party without all of you!
