Andrew & Tasha

Our nephew Andrew came down for spring break with his girlfriend Tasha. They spent some time in the pool and took a day trip to Cali to see the ocean. We had a great visit. Come back soon!

ER

Today was a no fun day in the Emergency Room. I gave Kay a breathing treatment before bed. She woke me up in the middle of the night for another one, then I was off to work. Josh gave her another treatment at 9am. My parents picked up the girls and Kayleigh was already begging for another treatment by 11! So they called me a work, while they gave her another treatment. By the time it was over, she was still coughing and asking to go to the hospital. So I meet my Mom and Kayleigh at Cardens. This was the exact weekend last year that we took her there! Thank goodness this was not a replay of last year. She was not nearly as bad as last year, because we knew the signs and got her there early. She got a few more back to back breathing treatments, Motrin, and some steroids. We had the same Dr as last time, Dr Luma, who we love (but hope to not have to see again). We were thankfully sent home with some oral steroids and inhaled steroids. Hope this does the trick. We have an appointment with a Peds Pulmonologist in the next few weeks also. She did excellent in the hospital! She was polite and did everything they asked. Except drink the water because as she told her nurse “It did not have enough fresh ice!” We knew she was starting to feel better, when she became her bossy little self. She got a little giddy and loopy after like the third breathing treatment, maybe all that oxygen. She was giggly and told me she “like couldn’t feel her brain.” Wow, way better then our last trip to the ER when we had to stay for a few days. It is so hard to watch your baby not being able to breath!

Big thanks to Grandma Lisa for taking her and staying with me. She is such a huge support and a resource having to suffer with asthma herself. Hopefully this will be our last visit to the ER and an uneventful Spring!

Spring Pictures are back!

Color Vignette_8x10

Turned out pretty cute! We have Daddy to thank for the red mustache! I can not recall a time he gave or she asked for crystal lite to drink with breakfast, but today it happened. I caught her after a few sips but it was too late. She kind of reminds me of a cute little vampire! Her face looks a little washed out and whiter than normal, then she has those red lips! I think I will submit this photo to the casting agent of the next Twilight movie!

Hot Cocoa

Kayleigh’s new favorite treat is Hot Cocoa. I think she gets this from her Gma Lisa. She wants a cup almost everyday, even now when it is heating up outside she still has cravings. She can even make it herself, with my supervision, in our coffee maker. Today she made some yummy fat free brownies (which I know she doesn’t need, but Mama does). She was so proud of her delicious afternoon treat!

Undie Update

Taylor has been a rock star!! She has been using the big girl potty with only a rare accident! She has had a dry bed every night (only one accident at night time)!! Daddy is really good about reminding her to go. So tonight while daddy was a work, she had a “huge poop” on the potty. Right away she said we needed to “send a picture to daddy!” So I took this picture just for him. Ok, this is actually the edited version. He said something is disturbing about the whole toilet/poop in the picture and made me do some cropping to make it suitable for online viewing. Good job Sister Mae- we love you!

Tanner

Our nephew Tanner moved into town from
South Dakota a few months ago. He is living with Josh’s parents. We love having him here! It’s fun getting to hang out with him more than once a year! Not only has he helped with quite a few projects around the house, the girls have a blast with him. Almost every Sunday night after their bath you can find them cuddled in Tanner’s room watching Rugrats. We are so glad you are here!

Little Mikey’s Birthday

We celebrated Mikey Sacco’s birthday today. His Dad Mike is one of our oldest friends from elementary school and was Josh’s best man. I still call him Mikey, but I think most people now call him Mike:). Little Mikey turned 7, which had us all feeling a bit old. His little sister Giana is just 8 months older than Kayleigh. They have a blast hanging out with each other! Mikey’s grandma gave the girls My ‘lil Ponies and Squinkies and they were thrilled. They spent the rest of the time playing at the table.

It was kind of funny because I am typically the one in charge of getting presents for the parties we attend. Without me even asking, Josh went and got Mikey a present. I think he had a bit of fun buying a gift for a boy! He went to Sports Authority…no glitter or anything!

Little Cooks

I have been trying to convince Kayleigh for years that Daddy makes a way better breakfast than Mommy. But Daddy is not a morning person so usually gives then a bowl of cereal. Therefore, Kayleigh always insists I make her breakfast. One day Daddy made her eggs and she realized I am right. She now will bug him to always get up and cook for her. He also lets them help crack the eggs, which they love!

Caught in the act…

…AGAIN! I must say I am really loving when these two get along!! Slowing but surely they are becoming friends! I think now that Taylor is old enough to really play (and follow Kayleigh’s orders) they are starting to have fun with one another. Tonight I got home from work a bit early. I was doing some dishes and they were watching a movie. I looked over and spotted this…

Amococo

Gma Lisa took us to Amococo today. This is an exhibit at Mesa Center for the Arts. Amococo is the most labyrinthine luminarium, featuring as it does 86 triaxial domes and 71 pods that together create a complex of pathways where the visitors may happily lose themselves! The tunnels had different colors and different temperatures. The girls had fun running around and exploring. They weren’t ready to leave. That is until they heard “Chipotle” and then they were set.

Addie’s New Big Girl Room

My Mom and I spent the day getting Addie’s big girl room ready! Carrie watched the girls, while we painted the room pink! (I think Carrie had the harder job!) Then I put her toddler bed together. The girls were so excited and I think Addie really likes it! She is still in her original room. But her Gma Sharon is coming to visit soon to help get her Tinkerbelle room ready. Then it’s time for baby sister to come!

Ostrich Festival

We ventured out to the Ostrich Festival today! The petting zoo was a big hit! We cheered during the ostrich races and even saw a Sea Lion show at the end of our day. Last year we did the over priced unimpressive rides, but this year we were smart and stuck with the free shows- and had even more fun!

Our three little trouble makers…

I think Kayleigh was the only one who was able to pet the baby goat. It would just lay in the center of the cage. But after a few minutes of Kayleigh kneeling down and talking to it, she finally coaxed it over. She was so excited. She has a special bond with animals, I will never understand.

Look how tired Kayleigh looks on Papa’s shoulders. We had to hold them up because it was a bit crowded for the Sea Lion show. My poor Dad’s back was a bit stiff after the show! Great Day!

Oh! Today was also our wedding anniversary! 7 years was celebrated with hot dogs and french fries before he had to take off to work. The romance never dies!

We have had enough!!

We have been avoiding this for too long! We finally took a deep breath and decided it was time to be done with diapers and pull ups! When your two year olds tells you she needs to potty in the middle of the store and you think “just pee in your diaper!” it is probably time to think about potty training. For a few weeks now Taylor Mae has been wearing her big girl undies when we are hanging out at home and doing pretty good. But when we go to run errands or leave the house, we always turn to diapers. We were referred by a friend to the 3 day potty training book. It is a really good guide, but says to toss all diapers- even at nap and night!! Kay is still wearing a pull up at night. I wasn’t ready for this. Josh said it was all or nothing, so here we go! They next 3 days of our lives will be dedicated to Taylor and not leaving the house. She will hopefully learn when her body tells her it is Time to Use The Potty!!!

I just love when little girls start wearing their undies. Sooo stinkin’ cute! She will pretty much only wear boy undies. She wants Cars and Toy Story and we can not find those in girl undies. I actually like the boys better. They are thicker and have thinker trim, so they don’t ride up her little butt. Wish us luck on this new step!

To Infinity and Beyond

Taylor absolutely loves Toy Story. She has most of the characters and sleeps with them every night. One night, Papa Mike began talking for the toys and playing with Taylor and she had a blast. Now if you are sitting on the couch, she will come up to you with her toys and the sweetest face ever and say, “you play with me please?” How can you say no to that? It is so fun to watch Daddy play with them. He will actually say their lines from the movie and Taylor loves every second of it! Taylor will talk right back to them like they are really talking to her and they are the best of friends!

Spring Carnival

We headed out to support August Ranch Elementary school today. This is the school in our neighborhood and is where Kayleigh will attend next year. They had a mini-carnival today with a ton of bouncies set up and a variety of vendor booths. There were a few booths with homemade hair clips that I just couldn’t resist. I bought a few from some jr high girls that made bows that were the school colors – super cute! Then we had an over priced hotdog and called it a day! I love neighbor hood activities! It really gets me excited for when the girls are in school and I can be involved in more activities!

Saturday Morning Cuddle

My girls can be very affectionate…just not so much with each other. This morning I found them cuddled up on the couch watching cartoons! So sweet, kinda wish they were like this more often!

So Graceful…

Another session of Kayleigh’s dance has come to an end, which means another entertaining recital! This class was ballet, jazz, and tap. They danced to Walk like an Egyptian, Mulan’s Reflection and Cruella Devil.

Kayleigh really gets into character and is quite into her facial expressions…

Taylor shook her booty in her seat watching her big sis and then gave her a rose at the end!

We are proud of our little dancer!
