Kiara Jolie Thie

We had yet another beautiful niece born today! Kiara Jolie Thie was born July 16 at around 4pm. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. She was welcomed by Mommy Kari, Daddy Joe (Josh's brother), and three big brothers Tanner, Cody, and Dylan. Taylor and Kayleigh are so thrilled and can not wait to play with their new cousins.

I love you too!

Kayleigh spends a lot of time ignoring her new sister, but each day she is talking to her more and more. Tonight we were out shopping and I was wearing Taylor in a baby carrier sling. I really don't think Kayleigh even realized she was there. I was kneeling down looking at the bottom shelf, just at Kayleigh's level. Kayleigh spotted her and surprised said, "Oh Taylor!" Then leaned in, kissed her on the mouth, and told her "I love you too." I love my girls!

Photo Shoot

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures of our little photo shoot above. We got Taylor's newborn pictures done about two weeks ago. At the same time we got a few of Kayleigh- just because she is so beautiful. Then we got a few family pictures. We went to a new photographer named Brittney and really loved it (a link to her blog is on the side). Kayleigh was in a pretty good mood, but just did not feel like taking pictures with Taylor. If you know Kayleigh you know if she does not feel like it- then it just will not happen. It took cookies and the dalmatian movie to get the few photos of them together we did get. I spent the last week putting my gorgeous girls pictures up all over the house!

Taylor Jarecki Thie

Our newest Princess is here!! June 23, Monday morning at 8am I woke up with my water breaking. Knowing things may happen fast, I woke up Josh and called my parents. My dad was coming to watch Kayleigh and my mom was going to the hospital with us. Within a few minutes I began to feel contractions. I called my friend Shannon (nurse extraordinaire) to let her know we were coming into the hospital to have a baby. We left the house shortly after that. Josh drove excellent to the hospital, considering it was Monday morning at rush hour. He kept his eye on the road, passing cars in the carpool lane and going well above the legal speed limit. My mother sat in back and talked to me between contractions. My grip on the seat belt became tighter by the minute as I wondered why I chose to work in downtown Phoenix and not in east Mesa. We showed up at the hospital shortly after 9am. Shannon was waiting for us in the parking garage with a wheelchair. We were able to bypass registration and triage and go strait to the room Shannon had ready and waiting. The next few minutes were by far the toughest. Josh, my mom, and Shannon did an excellent job of helping me breath and get through labor without any medication. I am just thankful everything went so fast! Taylor was born at 9:29am. She weighed 7#7.6 oz, 19 inches long, and apgars of 9/9. She looks just like her big sister and is absolutely perfect. We are so happy to have two beautiful daughters! It was a wonderful day!

Sugar! Sugar!

Kayleigh had a special bedtime snack tonight. She usually takes a bath, than gets maybe a sugar-free pudding, a yogurt and cheese, maybe some no sugar added ice cream. Tonight the lucky girl found a 100 calorie pack of mint chocolate cookies in the back of the pantry. I think the pictures say it all... she was quite fond of them!

Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day. Poor Daddy was at work most of the day. He did get to play with his girl this morning and a bit tonight. Kayleigh spent the day swimming with Grandpa Joe. She then had dinner and played with Grandpa Mike. She even got to stay up a little late to play with Daddy when he got home from work.

Thank You!!!

As many of you know, I was admitted into the hospital May 7 with preterm labor and had to stay for 4 weeks. Everything is great now! Just waiting for Little Miss Taylor to make her big arrival. Thank you so much to our supportive and wonderful family for all of their help. Everyone took turns watching Kayleigh each day and bringing her to the hospital to visit. Kayleigh spent the time shopping, swimming, going to the zoo, and going to a few Dback games.
