Happy Birthday Gaga!!

We celebrated Grandma Lisa’s 55th birthday tonight. We started the party with a little princess dress up. Then Josh and I made a special pork chop dinner Josh saw on Take Home Chef (so yummy). We topped if off with some pazookies! The girls are way into blowing out the candles, so we made sure everyone had their own!

First Day of School

My big girl started Kindergarten Prep today! As we were getting out of the car I told her I was going to take some pictures. “Seriously Mom! No one else is taking pictures! Do you have to?” So I first had to hide between two cars to take the first picture, and a “hurry no one is looking” for the second pic in front of the door. Once we got in class, she realized I wasn’t the only dorky mom! There were plenty of cameras. I was curios to see how she would do with me leaving. She has never had a problem when I leave her places, but it has only been with family members. She gave me a hug and kiss and didn’t flinch as I headed out the door. She was excited to see me when I came to get her. She was “too embarrassed” to talk about her day, but did say she had so much fun and had apples for a snack. When we got into the car I asked if there was somewhere special she would like to go for lunch. She responded, “No, I think I just want to go home and see my sister.” What the heck?! The rest of the afternoon they played great together! Turns out Kayleigh missed her pesky little sister! I am so excited to see the great things she learns!

Great Great Aunties

Three of my Great Aunts, one Aunt, two Uncles, one great Uncle, and my Grandma were all in town for a few days. It was a very nice little reunion. Kayleigh was in heaven!! She loves when we have visitors. The fuller the house the better! I intended for her to sleep in my room, so everyone could have their own beds and bathrooms. When she found out that Auntie Wilma was staying in her bed, she wanted no part of my bed. She wanted to cuddle with her new “Best Friend”.  Taylor had fun, but was bit out of her comfort zone. She was super clingy mama’s girl, like even more than normal. It was interesting to see how very different my girls can be. Kayleigh was inseparable within minutes and Taylor wanted to bury her head in my arms.

Aunt LuAnn bought the girls cute stuffed animals and books…

Open House

Tonight we went to Kayleigh’s school for the first time. She is starting Kindergarten Prep at Superstition Springs Elementary School. She will be going three hours a day. Tonight we had the chance to see the classroom and meet the teachers. Kayleigh thought her classroom was way cool and liked her teachers. I have noticed that lately when she is nervous she will get really close to Taylor. It is the weirdest thing because she will act like they are just the best of friends. She was actually holding her hand walking around the classroom. Josh and I were laughing at how cute they were. I really think this will be a great opportunity for my little smarty to really learn and have fun.

We took her to her very favorite restaurant for dinner. She asks for her chicken burrito from Chipotle almost everyday!

Happy Bday Grandma Lou

Grandma Lou was in town this week. Her brother who lived in Surprise passed away unexpectedly. Not great circumstances but we loved having her here. We were even able to celebrate her birthday with her!

Blowing out the candles was a group effort. It is the girls favorite part!

All three girls take turns on Grandma’s walker. They think it was made just for them to ride with Grandma!

Greer

My wonderful parents rented a cabin for the whole family up in Greer! It was the perfect little getaway. Sometimes with kids, you need a vacation after your vacation. This was truly a relaxing vacation. The cabin was beautiful. It was right next to a creek and had a nice spa on the patio. We enjoyed spending time with our family. We hiked, fished, played cards, ate, read, slept, watched movies, and just enjoyed each others company.

Notice the sharp poker! My dad improvised without a wine opener. I thought he was going to lose an eye, but worse he spilled some wine.

There was a sign at the beginning of the hike that said bears are afraid of loud noises. Kayleigh decided it would be her job to periodically growl and yell to scare away the bears.

I think one of Taylor’s favorite parts of the trip was getting to share a bed! I usually made Josh sleep with her and I would sleep with Kayleigh. Tay is just such a cuddler that she would nestle herself under you and be as close as she possibly could. So cute, but I move around way too much to be that close.

Thank you Gma Lisa and Papa Mike for a wonderful vacation. We loved every second of it!
