Soccer Star

Kayleigh had her end of the season soccer party today! Soccer has been interesting. It is not her favorite sport. She is just not that into it at all. During one game she asked me if she could just stand on the sideline and be the teams cheerleader and not play. She told me she is ready to go back to dance and gymnastics. She did love the party though! She was so so proud of her trophy and medal! Maybe we will try soccer again in a year or two, but for now I guess it is back to dancing.

I think her soccer picture shows perfectly how she feels about soccer…

Baxter

We had a visitor this week. His name is Baxter and he is the K Prep bear. Each week he spends with a different student. He keeps a journal with pictures and stories about his week. Kayleigh is in absolute love with him and has been talking about getting him since school started. We made sure he had an awesome week with the Thie family!

We woke him up bright and early for soccer…

Kayleigh treated him to her all time favorite place..Chipotle!

005

We took him on bike rides around our neighborhood…

He got to meet Santa at the mall. But Santa at the mall charges $20 for a picture, so he settled for a picture in the fake snow behind Santa.

Baxter kept Kay company during her hair cut…

Star Sidewinder

Every week a different K Prep student is chosen to be the “Star Sidewinder”. This week it was Kayleigh! She was so excited. She got to bring home Baxter for the entire week. Baxter is the K Prep bear. Kayleigh brought in her favorite book for the class. One day the class outlined her on some butcher paper and colored her in and hung it up in the class. The kids also made a very sweet book for her. The title of the book is “Kayleigh is special because…” and each page is done by one of her classmates. They drew a picture on top and on the bottom wrote why think Kay is special. I will definitely keep that forever! I just love her class and her teacher. She loves to go everyday and is learning to much!

We had fun making a poster “All About Kayleigh” that was hung in the class. We put a picture of her on it and a picture of the family. She then had to answer some question that we also took some pictures to go with.

What is your favorite place? The Zoo

What is your wish? That I could have all the cats and dogs in the world

What do you want to be when you grow up? An animal doctor

What is your favorite thing to do? Color pictures for all the people I love!

You are my star every week!!

First Hair Cut Fun!!!

My lil’ Taylor got her first haircut! We had gone before with Kayleigh and Taylor always has a lot of fun, but never wants to get her hair cut. Her hair has always grown so pretty with long layers that I never worried about getting it trimmed. I have started to notice that the ends are getting a bit snarled and in need of a trim. So off we went for some torture! Let me add that we had been prepping her for days about her hair cut and she seemed totally fine with the idea.

This is her pre pictures. She was having a great time playing.

Then the cutting began (and the tears and screaming)…

She was over the drama by time she got her little toy…

Flagstaff/Sedona

My wonderful parents sent Josh and me on a little weekend get away for my birthday. We drove up to Flagstaff in the morning. We spent the day walking around, having a great lunch, and going to the fun little shops. That night Josh took me to the Lowell Observatory to look at the stars. It was all Josh’s idea! I was very impressed. Then we went out to a yummy steak dinner and got a tasty “gang buster”.

After a delicious breakfast at an award winning diner, we headed over to Sedona. My parents booked us a Pink Jeep tour and lunch over looking the red rocks to follow. We took a zillion pictures of the amazing scenery.

009

We had a blast on the jeep tour! The tour guide was great, it was beautiful out, and we really had to hang on to our seats.

We spent the rest of the day walking around and enjoying Sedona and each others company. We of course had to get some homemade ice cream and fudge. It was so relaxing and a few days that we really needed. I missed my girls like crazy! I knew the were having a blast with the grandparents, but we still talked about them the whole time. My parents are the best and I am so very thankful to have them!

Good bye 20’s, Hello 30’s!!

Happy 30th to me! I had a great day! We went to Chipotle for lunch (Kay and my fav). I got to spend the afternoon with Josh and my girls. Then my parents took us out to dinner at Oregano’s. Carrie, Addison, Sharon, Kristin and Justin all met us there. Didn’t really take many pictures. We were too busy enjoying pazookie and bellini!

Me with my girls and Auntie Kristin…

Cuddle Bug

Taylor is such a sweet little cuddle girl. Tonight we watched movies with Great Grandma Gerre. I think they both looked pretty comfy!

Desert Breeze

We spent the morning with Auntie Carrie, Sharon, and Addie at Desert Breeze Train Park. We attempted to feed the ducks, but after the multiple bird attacks we gave up. There were swarms of birds and I was literally screaming because they flew inches from our heads. It was so funny, but a bit frightening:) We spent the rest of our time in the awesome play areas and eating our picnic lunch!
