D Back Fan Fest

My parent took Kaykay to D Backs fan fest a few weekends ago. She loves loves the D Back games. She did not want to leave. She got to go in the dugout and the club house. How cool is that? The president of the D Backs even talked to her. She of course gave him one of her killer dirty looks- real nice. She did talk with Caribe from News 12 and really liked her. We have a spring training game planned in two weeks, which she will love. She can not wait for the season to start up again!

Plus Size Model

Josh is always telling Taylor, "You are so pretty. You could be a model...maybe a plus size baby model!" I tried weighing her on my scale today and I could only get a good reading by weighing myself then myself with her and doing the math. Which was depressing for me, but wow I got her weighing 18.8 lbs! That is a lot of love! Kayleigh weighed that at a year. She is also a solid B cup as you can see in the picture below! : )

XOXOXO

We hope everyone had a day full of love. We did! We do not usually celebrate Valentine's Day, but we thought it would be fun for the girls to do a few little things. We woke up to gifts from Daddy. Beautiful flowers for me (although Kaykay was pretty certain they were for her) and cute little dogs for the girls. When Kayleigh walked out of her room you hear a gasp then, "Oh my gracious! Beautiful fowlers (yes fowlers)! For me? For me? Oh so beautiful, I love them so much. Oh these fowlers!" This went on for a bit, until she saw the dogs and then started in on how "amazing" they were. After breakfast Josh and I headed to Verizon to pick out some new phones. I have had my trusty pink razor for 3 years. A few weeks ago it landed on the bottom of the full hydro therapy tub at work. It still works, but I thought it maybe time for an upgrade.
We were then treated by my parents to a wonderful dinner at Islamadora Fish Company. It does not get more romantic than V day dinner with parents and two kids! Our favorite people, so we had no complaints.
Could this be? The girls actually playing with each other? Kayleigh was in a rare mood and actually decided that Taylor existed tonight! Even better- I got pictures!
Just for fun some pictures of my girls. Taylor today and Kaykay two years ago today!

Her blue nose just grew an inch!

Mommy: Kayleigh, your markers only go on paper.
Kayleigh: Only on paper. Not the wall, not the couch, not the floor.
Mommy: And not your face. Did you put marker on your face.
Kayleigh: No Mommy, markers are only on paper.
Mommy: Kayleigh you need to tell the truth. Did you put marker on your face.
Kayleigh: Nope, only on my paper. It so beautiful my picture.
Mommy: Let's go look in the mirror and have a little talk about lying!

Here were Josh and Taylor during Kayleigh's creative morning. Taylor now has two teeth! Both center bottom. She can also now pull her belly off the ground almost crawling on all fours, rather than her army crawl. I was in the kitchen making some homemade baby food. Applesauce was today. Can I just say for someone who does not know how to cook, I can make some pretty delicious baby food. BTW I could see Kaykay the whole time- she was in the living room which is open to our kitchen, she was just on the other side of her art easel.

Chompers

My baby has her first tooth! It is on her bottom right. She loves to play with it with her little tongue. It is so stinkin' cute. Poor babe has been sleeping like a newborn the last week or two. Up every 2-3 hours, if I am lucky! She just wants to nurse and then will go back to sleep. I was thinking it was either her poor toothers hurting her or the fact that she is almost 7 1/2 months and a chunky little thing that refuses food! This week I discovered that if I hold her then she will eat. I don't get you girl. She does not mind her highchair. She just sits and plays, but if that spoon comes near her then her lips are glued shut. The other night I was holding her after a mid meal poop (Taylor) and I tried to see if she would eat holding her. Wide open mouth! So the last few days she went from maybe two baby spoon fulls a day to eating the whole bowl. But stinker has to be in my arms.
Yes those cheeks are as sweet in person as they look in the pictures. I could just eat her up!

Gymnastics

Kayleigh had her first gymnastics class today! We signed her up at Desert Devils and she is a Diaper Devil! The first half hour was a bit intense and fast paced. It was kind of crazy! The instructors were great. Kayleigh was learning new equipment and a lot a lot of new things. There was a few rough times, but overall she did a great job for lesson one. The second half hour was a little smoother. She did forward rolls (even on the balance beam), bars, rings, rock wall, rope climbing, trampoline, floor, the pit, and played with a parachute! She was not ready to leave when the hour was finished. It was definitely a great work out for both of us! A HUGE thank you to Papa Mike & Grandma Lisa for such a great Christmas present. When you look this cute in a leotard you have to do gymnastics!

Zoo Zoo and more Zoo

We have been taking advantage of this nice weather and heading out to the zoo every week. A few week ago my mom and I took the girls to Zoo Lights. We were the dorks with winter jackets, hats, and gloves in 58 degrees. There were literally people there in shorts. But whatever the girls were just getting over nasty colds.Ever wonder who buys those lame pictures they take at the door and charge a small fortune for....Sucker Grandmas!
Notice the cute winter jacket- Thanks Kathy- love and miss you!Last week Josh and I took the girls for the day.
Sting Ray Bay
Being a 2 year old!
This week we went with our friends Owen and Kristin. We had a great time except for the wild animal attack! Let me set the scene...We were all eating a nice lunch by the lake. I was talking about how I hate when kids feed the ducks even though it is clearly posted not to. Moments later I hear Kayleigh squeal and a wild duck lunges with an open mouth ready to bite at Kayleigh's hand. He almost took her sandwich and a few digits, he was less than an inch away from her hand. Luckily no one was harmed. But that nasty duck stood at the end of the table the rest of our lunch- he pooped there also. So please do not feed those ducks- they get mean and aggressive.
Kristin was kicked off that poor dolphin. Something about weight restrictions..oops I mean having to stand next to small children. : )

Park Fun

Now that the weather is getting so nice we are at the park everyday! Kaykay wakes up saying, "We go to the park now?" Last week end we went with the Grandparents to Freemont park. Kayleigh loved the train and Taylor loves being outside. Kayleigh has never been to fond of swings, slides- the bigger the better, but not so much swings. She is starting to go on them more and more. Notice the death grip her legs have on papa. : )

Yuck!!!

So my sweet little Taylor had her 1/2 Birthday on Dec 23rd! The next day she tried rice cereal for the first time. I must say that she is not a fan of food just yet. I continually have to reassure her that I am not poisoning her and it is merely mommy's milk with a little extra. She is not going for it at all. She just sticks her tongue out like "seriously mom, six months and you give me this crap?" We try everyday and everyday she spits it right out. She does however enjoy playing with spoons and sippy cups. A few days later I took her in for her 6 month visit. Little chunker is 16# 9 oz! So I am not so concerned with the lack of food intake because she nurses enough to keep those thigh rolls nice and plump! I think she felt a bit yucky that night after the slew of immunizations. She was even more cuddly than normal. I did not complain a bit!
Six Months old and such a wonderful little love bug. Taylor loves sucking on her toes, rolling around from one end of the room to the other, being tickled, cuddling, and bouncing on her strong little legs. It often requires cat-like reflexes to change her diaper because she just wants to roll over and move. She is definitely a mama's girl! If I even think of leaving her sight she is sure to let me know that is not going to work for her. She just started saying 'mama mama', okay so I now she is just babbling. I just like to pretend she knows that means me. She always smiles and giggles when I talk to her. I am loving every second of it! Taylor loves her big sister for sure! When Kayleigh actually does talk to her- her whole body moves all over because she is so excited she can not hold still and she just giggles. She was the perfect addition to our little family!

Merry Christmas

Here are some pictures from our multiple Christmas celebrations. I had to work Christmas day so we celebrated everything a day early this year. Christmas Eve was our Christmas morning. We were all exhausted! Kaykay was up with us most of the night with an awful cold. We still had fun opening gifts and Josh made a huge breakfast! We spent that evening at my parents house along with Josh's family and my grandmas. Kayleigh was overwhelmed with all the gifts. We had to keep telling her to "keep opening" because she just wanted to sit and play with each one. I got out of work a few hours early on Christmas day and met up with my family at Josh's family's house for some more food and presents. Lastly, a few days later the girls opened gifts from Maggie and Mike. We had so much fun spending time with our wonderful family. It is amazing how much this family loves our little booger nose girls!
