Play Date

We spent the day at the zoo with Kristi and Jake today. We had a nice picnic lunch and then it was off to the splash area. I thought I could get away with just having Taylor hang out with us moms by the benches, but I was very wrong. When she saw the water, she was like "get me over there." So I had to throw her suit on and let her splash. Both my girls are such water babies! Then on the way out Kaykay had a little melt down. But really what would be a day at the zoo without a tantrum? It was great to get out of the house and spend the day with great friends! I hope Luke and Kate are feeling better and can come play next time.

A Water Bucket!

To think we spend like hundreds or even thousands of dollars on toys each year and the girls spent all afternoon with a water bucket! We went out to lunch with Gma Lisa, Jared, Carrie, Sharon and Addie today. Then back to Jared's for some fun in the sun. The pool is still a bit cold for me- Kaykay would love it but not so much for me quite yet. So Sharon filled up this water bucket got a few toys and spoons and the girls loved it!

Both girls were exhausted! They just cuddled on the couch while I got dinner ready.

2yr Old Proof

I thought Kaykay's room was 2yr old proof, but again she has proved me wrong. As many of you know, every drawer in her room is locked, the closet has locks, and the furniture is bolted to the walls. This child likes to climb, go through, pull apart, and move around everything. She does everything but sleep at nap time. So Josh and I were thinking she was taking some incredible nap, she was in there quiet forever. Then we hear some noises, Josh opens the door. "Oh, Kayleigh! Honey- come look at what she did." My first thought was poop everywhere because last week she actually did take a nap- only after getting naked and then she peed in her bed. But no, this time she broke the lock on her closet, emptied it, and found nail polish in a box with hair things. She amazingly did not get any on the carpet! We now have a stronger lock on the closet!

Addison Wester Jarecki

Announcing the newest member of our family...Addie!

Last night leaving my friends I get a call from Jared that Carrie's water broke, no contraction yet, heading to the hospital. OMG! I spin my car around and meet them at hospital registration about 11pm. Within the next few hours find she is dilated 0.5 cm. What? This will be a long night and probably a long next day for poor Carrie- or so we thought! Then Pitocin (induces contractions) is started a few hours later. Carrie remains smiling but the breaths are getting a bit deeper. Real hard contractions start about 6:30am. Carrie (getting a bit harder to smile) is realizing this is intense and is hopefully the worst pain she will ever have. After one to two hours of hard core labor, the epidural is placed and she is now 4cm. That hurts going from .5 to 4cm in an hour, I know your pain sister. So the three of us (Carrie, Jared, and I), after not having slept a wink, get our pillows set for maybe a little shut eye, or so we thought. Within a few minutes I hear a sweet little voice, "Kristen...I feel some pressure." Okay maybe because you went from 4-8cm in no time. A few minutes later, "Kristen....I feel like she is pushing out." That is because you are now 10cm/+3 and ready to have a baby! Carrie pushed with maybe 5 contractions like a true pro! Then little Addison made her debut at 10:16am. 6lbs 14oz, 20 inches long, 13 inch head, Apgars 9/9, and the third most beautiful thing I have ever seen! She is lucky to have two of the most amazing people I know for parents. I can not express how grateful I am to have been a part of such a wonderful, meaningful experience. I see babies born all the time, but this was amazing and like nothing else. To see my brother become a father was something I will never forget. Hearing him call himself "Daddy" to Addie as he changed her first diaper brought a tear to my eye. I love you guys and congratulate you on your beautiful new daughter. Thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Girls Night!

We celebrated one of my oldest (I mean old!) friends, Annie's birthday last night. She turn 32 (told you old) today. It was a much needed girls night out with my favorite people (beside the fam of course). It started with dinner and drinks at Olive & Ivy. We then went to the musical Girls Night. Followed by some gelato. We had so much fun. I think Annie's favorite part was that Nerissa got front row center tickets, so when the cast pulled us up by our arms to dance she loved, I mean LOVED it. I think she was wishing she drank more at dinner. Then as I was leaving for home and checked my phone I had just missed a call from my big bro Jared. OMG Carrie's water had just broke. So forget home, I was headed to Good Sam! More to come on that birthday...

Hippity Hop

Hope everyone had a great Easter. Josh and I both had off work which does not happen often. We spent the morning coloring eggs. Then we headed out to Papa Joe and Gma Mona's house for some yummy food and of course an egg hunt. Maggie helped Kaykay find and open the eggs. Both girls love being outside and of course Kayleigh loves Easter candy! After the hunt the girls opened baskets. My parents, Jared & Carrie all came over for some food, food, and more food!

Happy Easter from The Thie Family!

Ps. Why are boys so weird? So Josh got dog poop on his jeans from laying in the grass taking egg hunt pictures. As I am down loading pics I see this one. Okay honey I want pictures of my beautiful daughters, not dog crap on your leg!

Disney on Ice

Grandma Lisa & I took Kayleigh to Disney on Ice today. Kayleigh was great the entire time and had so much fun. She just sat there wide eyed waving to each character. Some of my favorite quotes were, "This is amazing!" "She is just beautiful (Alice in wonderland)" "I need to tell that mean guy to be nice! (Syndrome from the Incredibles)" "Let's do this again tomorrow!" Thank you Grandma Lisa & Papa Mike for front row tickets to one of the happiest shows on earth!
That poor lollipop mysterously disappeared just a few hours after the show!
