Time Out

Our sweet Taylor Mae is turning into a 2 year old more and more each day. With that comes more time outs. She is so good about it. Kaykay would throw a huge fit and would go crazy. I think because Taylor so often sees her big sis in time out, she knows just what to do. It really works for her! If she is throwing a tantrum, it will calm her down. Tonight she decided to use her spoon to throw her dinner into her sisters hair and onto the floor. A bit funny, but very naughty. We told her no. A few minutes later she did it again and bought herself a time out. We don’t tell her to face the wall and Kaykay doesn’t, but she just always does. She also looks down and makes a pouty face. Then when her time is up she comes and gives hugs and tries to say sorry. Oh 2 year olds- so naughty but still so dang cute!

Wrestle Mania

Sometimes my girls surprise me and actually have fun playing with each other. I don’t know what got into them, maybe because it was Mothers day, but they were actually totally playing with each other. First on the swing set outside, then before bath time they decided to wrestle. They were laughing so hard and were really taking each other down. My dad (an ex wrestler) showed them some moves! Kaykay is a bit bigger, but it was a pretty good match!

Great Gma Gerre

We are lucky enough to see Great Gma Gerre more often this year. She has been spending part of the year living with Aunt Jean at the Grand Canyon and the other part in Wisconsin. She came down for a Brewers game this weekend. Kayleigh got to spend some pool time with her. They are the only ones willing to get in the cold pool. The rest of us just swim in the heated “little pool” which is my parents oversized spa. We have so much fun with her and are so glad we get to see her more! Love you Gma!

ps The Brewers won and per my mothers report the DBack fans have asked my grandma to please not return to another game, although Miller sales may fall. :)

More Tutus!

I made Taylor her tutu tonight. Before I was finished, I let Sissie give it a try. Kaykay loved it on her. I don’t think Sissie loved it as much! Taylor loved it! She danced around like a ballerina, jumped on the couch and thought she looked so pretty! She was all giggles. Of course she is nude (like a lot of the time) but it was right before bath time, so at least I have an excuse this time. My kids just love being naked for some reason. I can not wait to get her into dance lesson next year. She loves to watch Kayleigh’s recital videos and dance with them. Now she has an outfit to dance in!

Splash!

Last night we had a Girls Only sleep over at my mom’s house. My Dad and Jared were out of town and Josh worked over night, so we all went to Grandma’s house. Carrie made Cinco de Mayo tacos. The next morning we went to the splash park by Addie’s house. The girls had a great time, they are such water girls! They both got home and took great naps for me!

Time for a Picnic

I have wanted a kids picnic table for quite a while now. I have been looking online at plastic ones or some wooden ones. I just never really found one I liked. Josh knew I had been looking and figured he could just make me one. So he turned some boards of wood into a new table. The girls picked out all the paint colors and even got the help us paint the base color- pink of course! I then did all the detailed painting at nap times. I think it turned out pretty cute. The girls love it and it was a really fun family project!

 

Tutu Cute

Kaykay and I were in a creative mood today. We headed to the craft store and bought some tutu supplies. We cut tulle, sewed elastic, super glued flowers and made this amazing tutu! I probably could have used less tulle because it is quite full, but Kayleigh was still proud of our creation (as was I). On one of the instruction sites we saw a dog wearing one, so now she is determined to make one for Sissie. I will let you know if that happens and will of course share some pictures of our poor dog.

The girls are constantly taking my camera. I usually erase about 50 pictures of Sissie each day. Occasionally I find one I really like. Kayleigh took this of herself on my cousin Anna’s camera. I thought she looked so pretty.

Dentist

We had our first trip to the dentist today! We had a great time and the girls actually loved every minute! Kayleigh was well prepared. I had showed her the website of the office and explained everything they would be doing. She was not scared at all! The hygienist was excellent and Kaykay really  liked her. She took her time explaining everything to Kayleigh and let her hold all the instruments. The dentist was great also. He actually found three teeth in Kayleigh’s mount that are exactly like Sleeping Beauty’s teeth, which was pretty exciting information. The theme of the office is beach with oceans and fish painted on the walls and sea turtles hanging from the ceiling. The exam chairs were surf boards. Taylor just got a quick exam, no full cleaning yet. She fussed for about half a minute and was over it. Josh and I were so proud of our girls!
